I graduated with an honours degree in Traditional Acupuncture from Oxford Brookes University and The College of
Traditional Acupuncture
at Haseley, Hatton, Warwickshire in 2008 and received my full Acupuncture Licence from the
British Acupuncture Council.  I also gained an honours degree in Life
Sciences from the Open University in 2001.  I work
using Classical Five Element Acupuncture as developed by the late Professor J R Worsley.
My first career was in nursing;
I qualified as a registered nurse in 1977 and as a registered midwife in 1979.  I worked for 15 years in the NHS
in Coventry,
Warwick and Leamington Spa before entering the private health care sector in Warwickshire.  My nursing, midwifery
and
Life Science background put me in an ideal position to understand disease from the western point of view and to
communicate effectively
with all western health care providers.  My midwifery experience helps me to teach you and
your partner acupressure for use at home during pregnancy and for pain relief during labour.  It may be possible to turn
a breech presentaion baby using moxibustion.

IBS, colitis, asthma, high blood pressure, hypertension        Treatments

Five Element Acupuncture treatments are gentle and holistic.  This branch of acupuncture is closely related to the natural world
of changing
seasons, changing day lengths and the effect these changes have on all life on earth. The patient is always placed
at the centre of each
treatment with treatments carried out to suit the individual constitution of each person.  My aim is to
restore your natural balance which
has been lost at some time thus letting disease get a foothold in the body.  I am happy to
discuss any health problem with you at a free
20 - 30 minute visit  or on the telephone if this is more convenient.  During the
first treatment there is always plenty of time to discuss
your current and past health problems in detail.  This first treatment
lasts for 90 minutes or a little longer so please allow time for this when
booking in.  It helps my Traditional Chinese Diagnosis
if you arrive free from scented toiletry products and from facial cosmetics.  After
taking a full history I perform a Chinese
Medicine physical examination, take your blood pressure then begin to treat you using acupuncture
needles.  All of my
needles are sterile, disposable and packaged for single use.  During needling you may feel a dull ache or a tingling
sensation
but many people feel nothing at all.

RESEARCH FACT SHEETS

acne, eczema, psoriasis, autoimmune           What if I don't like needles?

If you do not like the idea of needles I can use a Piezo-Quartz point stimulator or tuning forks of a specific frequency on
your
acupuncture points.  You might prefer acupressure from a finger tip or from a round ended probe.
